Intercession Commission
Purpose and goals
St. Paul listed intercession as priority for every believer: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Tim 2:1-2). Intercession is God’s urgent call to His people at this moment in history.
We are on the threshold of a golden age of intercession. The Church and the world stand in need of liberation, and fervent intercession is indispensable to accomplish this.
There are several initiatives and ministries of intercession being formed and several people are committing themselves to the ministry of intercession with the specific objective of praying for others.
In view of the above, CHARIS Intercession Commission has been formed with the following objectives:
-
- To promote intercession in the CCR and the Church.
- To create an International Network of Intercessors to pray for the Church and the World
- To identify and support intercession ministries and groups around the world.
- To help CHARIS National Service of Communion, communities and ministries in formation and growth of intercession.
- To develop and impart authentic teaching on intercession.
- To offer CHARIS training course on intercession at national and continental levels.
- To organize continental and international gathering of intercessors.
- To be attentive to the signs and needs of the time and organize intercession.
- To organize intercession for emergent needs with intercessors of other Christian Churches.
May the Holy Spirit raise up more and more intercessors and bring up more and more ministries and centers of intercession in the Church to “stand in the breach”(Ezek 22:30) before God and intercede for the coming of the Kingdom of God!
