African CCR Youth Leadership Conference
Embarking on the sacred journey to the land of Uganda, Namugongo, was a profound experience that filled me with awe and wonder. Upon my arrival, I met many youths on fire for Jesus, which was heartwarming and secure.
Primarily, this journey is the merit of all the Glory that belongs to the Almighty, omnipotent God. It shows that He is a loving Father who keeps His promises to His children. It was the first time in my entire life that I left my country to travel to another. I have always wanted to travel if it would be for the Glory and purpose of God. Honestly, I can tell this is one of the best gifts God has granted me, and I am willing to travel for Him. There is a first time for everything, but I genuinely appreciate it and I’m eternally grateful. The memories are rooted in my heart and soul even after I have returned.
Secondly, meeting God’s people in such diversity shows the Kingdom of God within this day’s 50th Youth Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Indeed, I was filled with joy every day. Many things touched me deeply. First, it was when Papa Fred was to make you uncomfortable and angry and shape you into who you are, for it’s such a big step in reaching this far. It had already happened, but only to realize that I should be more grateful to be in such a sacred, blessed place because God was there every minute in our midst as He was talking to us. There came a point when I started to get sick, but it shows that being in such a place with prayer every day and developing holy habits, God heals.
Witnessing people from all parts come together in devotion to the Glory of God was heartwarming. This celebration was a testament to the love that God is, and I am proud to say that Africa embodies this love. Despite not having all the worldly possessions, it is evident that God has a special place for these people. The history of the place shows that there were young men (Ugandan Martyrs) who were ready to die. Jesus showed more meaning to being a servant of Christ through my daily sufferings. Seeing mothers and children braving the cold near the shrine for shelter to be part of these events was more than touching. It was heartfelt. It was a display of true sacrifice and unity.
But honestly, the shocking part was that God has bestowed gifts on us, His servants, to serve those in need and help us better understand our purpose. Even the differences in how I am made me appreciate that I’m
genuinely His treasured masterpiece. Being the only youth there representing Seychelles was an honor, and sharing what I have learned is even more significant as I can be part of the new Africa. Gaining youths will be a challenge, but surely, it will be an excellent benefit for the Kingdom of God. Nothing is impossible with God, for I can do everything through Him who strengthens me. Not only to help me unlock all that God has put inside me but also to help others know they have their gifts.
In addition, peace of mind and rest were so good, which I rarely experience at home. I felt rejuvenated. I was emotional when it came time to leave. I found it easy for many; I wonder if it’s the same for others. But until today, even if I’m here in Seychelles, tears of joy come to my heart.
