Meeting for Charismatic youth as part of the Jubilee 2025

On July 30, CHARIS – Catholic Charismatic Renewal International Service and the Youth Commission organized an event as part of the Youth Jubilee at the Basilica of San Crisógono in Trastevere, Rome, which was broadcast live to reach other young people who were unable to come to Rome.

The program brought together young people from different parts of the world for a full day of worship, teaching, and evangelization in the streets.

The event, entitled “Young Saints: Building by Example,” aimed to motivate and empower young people to strive for holiness and become agents of renewal in the Church.

The event began with vibrant praise and worship before launching into the first session led by Fr. Hayden Williams O.F.M. Cap, an internationally known preacher. Fr. Hayden delivered a powerful message on Baptism in the Holy Spirit, emphasizing the transformative effects on young people’s lives.

In the second session, Josip Bilandžija, youth representative at CHARIS International Service of Communion (CISC), spoke on the topic: Can young people renew the Church? His message affirmed the essential role of youth in the life and future of the Catholic Church, drawing from his own experience, life of the Church and two saints: St. Francis Xavier and bl. Ivan Merz.

Pino Scafuro, CHARIS moderator, sent a brief video message to the young people who spoke about examples of young people being assigned the task by God to do great things for the Kingdom. Following, Jean Pierre Fahd, spoke about the Importance of Personal Prayer. His reflection offered practical tools and deep encouragement for maintaining an interior life rooted in daily conversation with God.

The spiritual high point of the day was the Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr. Hayden, who, during the homily, spoke about practical and spiritual aspects of evangelization.

In the evening, Thomas Tussing offered an Orientation for Street Evangelization, equipping attendees with practical methods for sharing their faith publicly. Participants then took to the streets in groups for outreach, supported by Eucharistic Adoration — a blend of contemplation and action that characterizes the CHARIS vision for renewal.

The event closed at 22:00, leaving young people visibly moved and inspired to take their experience of the Holy Spirit into their local communities.

The event was enlivened by a music ministry composed of young people from Croatia who, together with Italians from various charismatic realities, led all the moments of prayer and liturgy during Mass and adoration.

We thank all those who collaborated in the realization of this event: We pray that other moments like these may be realized for many other young people who hunger and thirst for God.
