Commission for Priests and Religious

Since its inception, the current of grace that is the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) has generated numerous priestly and religious vocations. Similarly, many bishops, priests, and religious have experienced a profound renewal of their ministry and commitment to the service of the Church through baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Purpose and objectives

The CHARIS Commission for Priests and Religious aims to:

    1. Provide a platform for contact: Establish a meeting point for priests and religious involved in the Charismatic Renewal in countries where there is a National Service of Communion.
    2. Provide support and intercession: Offer support through listening and prayer. In case of difficulties related to their involvement in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, the Commission is ready to intervene with the competent ecclesiastical authorities.
    3. Be a privileged interlocutor: Serve as a point of reference for bishops and religious superiors. The aim is to answer their questions regarding their involvement in the CCR, contributing to a better understanding and acceptance of the charismatic reality in their respective Dioceses or Congregations.
    4. Supporting events: Offer support in organizing national, continental, or international meetings for priests and religious involved in the Charismatic Renewal.

All initiatives promoted by the Commission will be communicated through CHARIS’ social media channels.
