CHARIS Leadership Institute

CHARIS offers a Leadership Institute. It is a three-week intensive course in the very heart of the Church in Rome, Italy. Classes include studies in Scripture, Ecclesiology, Pneumatology, Mariology, Kerygma, CCR, Leadership and Ministry. Students will be offered practical teaching and workshops on various aspects of ministry within the CCR. In addition, the students go on several field trips to Christian sites, and Dicastries of the Roman Curia. Delegates of all ages, from charismatic organizations worldwide are invited to have a growth experience in leadership within the CCR. The programme is held primarily in English, but other languages are made available depending on the number of requests.

Our aim is to train leaders and potential leaders in serving the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit. We provide this program exclusively in Rome in order to expose the students to a truly ecclesial experience. We are happy to bring students to various offices of the Vatican in order for the students to see a much fuller picture of the life of the Church.

The CHARIS Leadership Course, a week-long school, is a way to help foster Leadership in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal worldwide. CHARIS is pleased to partner with local Charismatic realities in order to provide this week-long programme that will call and empower new leaders as well as strengthen and encourage current leaders.

Why a C L C?

The CLC is a condensed version of the CHARIS Leadership Formation, which stems from the CLI, offering the essence of the three week programme in a one week, condensed format.
The subject matter is the same, though as one can imagine, is not able to go to the same depth and breadth as the longer Institute.

CHARIS Intercession Course

C I C

CHARIS Intercession Course is a one-week course. It is the concrete realization of the desire to form a large family of intercessors worldwide. Intercession, being at the heart of evangelization and mission, is well rooted in the Catholic tradition. It concerns all Christians, not just those who are members of a particular group or movement.
St. Paul, as with the Ephesians Christian community, makes this appeal: “Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication” (Ep 6:18). The Church and the world are facing far more challenges today than what we have heard of in our life time. Increasingly the conviction is rising that the greatest need of today is to intercede for the Church and the world. All Christians are called to intercede, and most of us should doubtless intercede much more than we do.

Why a C I C?

Sensing the powerful move of the Spirit and desiring to make the information and experience available to as many people as possible, CHARIS offers CICs in all continents, regions and nations that would like to host the course.

Several topics are discussed such as:

-What is intercession?
-Deepening our understanding
-The call and urgency of intercession
-Spiritual warfare in intercession
-The repentant intercessor
-Prophetic intercession
-Suffering and intercession
-The four wheels of intercession: personal prayer, Word of God, Sacraments and Fellowship
-Tools for effective intercession

The course is meant for those already involved in intercession and for Catholics who may sense a calling to intercession. It will be a great help for those who are new to this type of prayer as the teaching would be clear and supported by helpful examples and inspirational testimonies.

CHARIS Charisms Course

C C C

The CHARIS Charisms Course is a formation course on the charisms. In His last words to His disciples, Jesus said:

These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover

Mark 16, 17-18

The exercise of charisms is part of the normal life of every Christian and specially for those who received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. After more than 50 years, it appears more and more necessary to help the CCR’s new generation to re-discover the practice of the charisms. In many places, the charisms are no longer exercised or are exercised in a diminished way. The CCC provides an in-depth training on the exercise of charisms to help those who commit themselves to acquire sound knowledge and information on each charism in order to exercise it as the Lord wishes in fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church. This practical training encourages participants to apply their knowledge that will be for them a reference in their parishes, diocese and country.
This practical training is intended for those who want to deepen their knowledge and experience in the exercise of charisms.

Subjects covered:
-Inner life as a foundation for the exercise of charisms
-The charism of Tongues: prayer in tongues, singing in tongues, speaking in tongues
-The charism of interpretation of Tongues
-Prophecy
-Word of Knowledge
-Discernment
-The charism (Word) of Wisdom
-The charism of Faith
-Gifts of Healing
-The Gift of Miracles
