With sorrow we learn the news of the sudden departure of Fr. Dario Betancourt to the house of the Father, but we remember him with joy for how he had a life dedicated to the service of the Church and the RCC.
CHARIS remembers and thanks this tireless priest who gave so much to the whole Catholic Charismatic Renewal in so many parts of the world, making the charisms with which the Lord filled him available to the people of God. We remember him with affection, certain that the Father rich in Mercy has welcomed him into the heavenly home together with many other charismatics who continually praise the Most High interceding for us all.
Father Dario Betancourt was born in Medellin (Colombia) on August 6, 1939 and was ordained a priest on September 6, 1964. He studied philosophy and theology at the Gregorian University in Rome; he then graduated in moral theology at the Academia Alfonsiana in Rome and in psychology at Fordham University in New York. He dedicated himself tirelessly to evangelization courses and seminars on spirituality in many countries around the world.
He wrote several books inspired by the spirituality of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, especially in the gift of healing, translated into several languages.
May Father Dario now intercede for the current of grace with the Father.
