Catholic Charismatic Renewal prayer groups in the Archdiocese of Kinshasa organized two events, which reached nearly 20,000 people.
The first event, called the “Charismatic Convention”, brought together prayer group leaders from different parishes to give them the training they needed to better accomplish their mission. Leadership training was offered.
- The ordinary of the archdiocese, Cardinal Fridolin AMBOGO, developed the theme of Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the synodal line.
- Abbé Léonard SANTEDI, Rector of the Catholic University of Congo, developed the dimension of CCR and the New Evangelization, and meditated on the theme: “Filled with the Holy Spirit, young people will rise up”.
- Sister Judith Myriam NAOUMOU, a member of the Communauté Mère du Divin Amour, developed the following themes: “CCR, wake up and make the light shine”; “Wake up and pray, for days are bad”; “Mary, the first charismatic”; “Don’t be afraid to move forward in practicing charism”.
- The Diocesan Coordinator developed the theme “The Holy Spirit and Family Renewal”.
- Jean-Christophe SAKITI, Member of the CISC focused on: “Peace-building in Africa”; ‘Inner healing for members of our prayer groups and communities’; ‘CCR and the promotion of entrepreneurial culture’.
These teachings had various objectives:
- A reawakening of charismatic life in the diocese
- A commitment to the mission of evangelization
- A commitment to peace, as the country is going through a difficult situation that has caused wounds in the hearts of the Congolese people.
- A commitment to job creation.
The second event was a five-day evangelization campaign. Several speakers taught and prayed for the participants. It was intense. The Lord answered our pleas, and many participants experienced:
- graces of conversion
- inner healings
- forgiveness between spouses
- physical healings.
May the Lord be praised for his wonders among his people.
