Formation Commission

Purpose and goals

The diversity of responses, behaviors and spiritual state of the people who are usually interested in approaching the meetings and celebrations of the CCR around the world call for training and formation programs suited for the different elements that make up a human being.

We are not fully spiritual beings.  Our being includes various areas all of which are loved by God to the benefit of our lives. These areas influence one another and if we do not take them into account we are no bound end up with incomplete, unsuitable and ineffective conclusions.

The Commission’s work is not about training academic speakers, but servants ready to lead these brothers and sisters toward a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, as a source of true healing. That encounter, at times, becomes more difficult due to the reasons we described above.

We need to carry the afflicted paralytic, lift him from his mat to the roof and break the roof open to be able to carry him in front of Jesus.

We need to learn how to better serve Jesus, so that that encounter may take place and our brothers and sisters may be trained in faith.

God certainly sets many challenges before us but he also gives us the talents needed to find a solution.

CHARIS already has different courses catering for many interests.

In 2022, CHARIS launched the Integral Formation Program – IFP.

This specific program is called ‘integral,’ because it takes into account the whole person, but it is also ‘complementary’ because it does not mean to overlap with other existing training requests. It does not replace Training Schools, Seminaries, Conferences, the internal training of communities or associations or other formation desks that the Church already offers.

______

After the pandemic, new challenges have arisen in the Church’s mission. We have to be ready to help brothers and sisters – in the state they are and how they are – and let them feel part of the community.

The IFP aims to complement knowledge of real-life aspects a servant of the CCR is confronted with. This is to ensure an essential spiritual and psychological self-knowledge.

The programme consists of 44 lessons given by leading personalities in each area. The modality is virtual and is offered in six languages.

Here are some of the topics included in the course:

  • A personal relationship with God
  • Prayer groups
  • The Bible
  • Celebration of christian faith
  • The Church’s magisterium and the CCR
  • The current of grace
  • Pneumatology
  • Auxiliary sciences
