Here is a report on the evangelization campaign I led in Kinshasa from August 11 to 17, 2025, at the request of the Diocesan coordination of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo).
The theme of the campaign was:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”
(Mathew 22:28)
This theme proved particularly appropriate given the situation in the country, which is afflicted by disease, malnutrition, poverty, and various forms of exploitation of man by his fellow man.
Each day of the campaign featured times of praise, preaching the good news, intercessory prayer, and testimonies. Friday, August 15, was specifically dedicated to intercessory prayer for the nation, which is facing a difficult period with part of its territory occupied by rebels.
Attendance was extraordinary, with an estimated 25,000 people present each day.
Among the many testimonies gathered from participants, I would like to highlight a few:
- Conversions from a life of debauchery to a commitment to follow Christ.
- Decisions to give up personal projects to devote themselves to the service of Christ in the Church.
- Several healings, including from near blindness, from the consequences of an accident, of people who used crutches, and the instant healing of a nun from cataracts, which allowed her to regain her ability to read.
Let us praise God for bringing his children together and manifesting his power of love. This event invites us all to commit ourselves with Christ to the salvation of humanity.
