International meeting organized by CHARIS to strengthen unity and mission within the Catholic Charismatic Renewal
On February 28, 2026, the coordinators of the National Service of Communion of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal from every continent gathered online for an international meeting organized by CHARIS. The meeting, held via Zoom, provided an opportunity for fellowship, prayer, and sharing regarding the mission of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal within the Church and in the world.
Andrés Arango opened the meeting, welcoming the participants and emphasizing the importance of the Coordinators of the National Service of Communion in fostering communion among the various communities of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal present in various countries.
The meeting began with a time of praise and worship led by Jean Christophe (Togo) and musician Ajin (India), creating an atmosphere of prayer and listening to the Holy Spirit.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, while expressing itself through many forms—prayer groups, communities, ministries, and schools of evangelization—is a single reality within the Church. The mission of CHARIS is precisely to serve the communion among all these expressions and to promote a culture of Pentecost within the Church.
Particular attention was given to the role of the National Service of Communion, which are called to promote unity among groups and communities, foster the formation of leaders, and support the discernment and growth of new initiatives.
Among the priorities that emerged are strengthening the formation of lay leaders and involving the younger generations. In fact, the Statutes of CHARIS require that there be at least one youth member, under the age of 35, in the National Service of Communion.
Representatives from different continents also shared brief testimonies about the work of the Holy Spirit in their regions, demonstrating that the Catholic Charismatic Renewal is alive and growing in many parts of the world.
The meeting concluded with a prayer led by Cyril John (India), entrusting to the Lord the journey of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
