Communities Commission
Purpose and goals
CHARIS, an instrument at the service of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, has instituted a Commission for Communities for the purpose of facilitating friendship, mutual service and communion between communities across the world.
One of the principal means of achieving these goals is through a series of ongoing dialogues with leaders so as to assist us in knowing the experience of communities around the world and how we might collaborate together for the good of all.

These initiatives of dialogue have already begun in different parts of the world and we look forward to new initiatives in the coming years. We have a particular interest in being in touch with local communities who do not experience the support of being part of major community networks. The experiences of local communities help us to determine possibilities for sharing formation, conducting conferences and encouraging leaders as they face the challenge of building effective missionary communities to shine the light of Jesus Christ across the globe.
“So if in Christ there is anything that will move you, any incentive in love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any warmth or sympathy — I appeal to you, make my joy complete by being of a single mind, one in love, one in heart and one in mind. Nothing is to be done out of jealousy or vanity; instead, out of humility of mind everyone should give preference to others, everyone pursuing not selfish interests but those of others.” (Philippians 2:1-4)
