Participating in the Africa CCR Youth Leaders Conferences held in Uganda has been a profound and transformative journey for me, representing Sierra Leone within the Catholic Charismatic Renewal community’s initiative to foster a renewed Africa through strengthened youth ministries. Throughout the program, I had the privilege of learning from nations like Ghana Uganda and Tanzania renowned for their exemplary youth ministry frameworks. One of the most impactful insights was the effective use of music and evangelization strategies tailored for university settings, inspiring youth to actively engage in ministry.
Meeting influential figures within the Catholic Charismatic renewal across Africa, including the International Youth Coordinator for CHARIS worldwide, was a vital moment. These interactions not only broadened my perspective but also provided invaluable networking opportunities crucial for advancing youth ministry initiatives in Sierra Leone. The program also imparted essential leadership values, emphasizing humility, teamwork, and the biblical principle of working in pairs, reflecting Jesus’ model of sending his disciples out two by two.
Furthermore, the emphasis on achieving balance across various aspects of life—work, ministry, family, social engagement, and self-care—rang deeply with me. This holistic approach highlights the program’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded leaders capable of sustaining impactful youth ministries across Africa.
In conclusion, the All-Africa Leadership Program has equipped me with practical skills, profound insights, and renewed passion to contribute effectively to the growth and empowerment of youth in Sierra Leone. I am grateful for this opportunity and remain committed to realizing the vision of building a vibrant and resilient youth community in my nation and beyond.
